DESCRIBE 3-D SHAPES
3-D shapes have their own physical features.It is necessary to know these features in order to be able to describe and classify them.
TEACHING LEARNING ACTIVITY
Describe 3-D shapes
1.      Show 3-D shapes and ask pupils to name them.Use appropriate sentence structures.
This is a cube. (show a cube)
2.      Describe the features of a cube.
This is a face. (Point to the surface of the cube)
Let us count the faces of the cube.
There are 6 faces. All the faces are flat.
3. Proceed with other shapes. Stress on the differences in their faces
         -flat or curved.
  Examples:










1. I  am a cylinder.                                                                  
2. I have 2 flat faces and 1 curved face.                          
3. I have 2 edges.     




 






1.  I am a cube.                                                                 
2.  I have 6 flat faces.                                                       
3.  All my faces are the same.                           
                                                                                                                                                               
4.  I have 8 corners.                                              
5.  I have 12 edges.
